Hi everyone!

After an epic 150-minute livestream today, we crossed the $50,000 mark and guaranteed that this campaign will fund. The ElfQuest Audio Movie is on!

Thanks to all of the backers who have joined us so far—together we've achieved an incredible goal.

There's a ton to share and announce over the next few updates, but first, we're thrilled to reveal a new bonus miniature:

Nightrunner will be added to all pledges at the $100 level and higher! (This is a bonus reward for backers receiving minis, added to your pledges at no additional charge.)

We ALSO get to reveal why Cutter's hand is outstretched—

Tune in next time as we reveal an exciting new cast member, as well as our first set of stretch goals!

Leetah Miniature Revealed
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jun 05, 2021 at 05:01:24 PM

Hi everyone!

At this pace (and THANK YOU) we're just a few days away from reaching our minimum funding goal for ElfQuest: The Audio Movie, so it's time to reveal the next miniature design from Jason Wiebe at Pariah Artworks!

The first step in designing Leetah was to choose an iconic pose. We settled on the famous dance scene, gathered reference artwork, then sent this slide to Jason.

Leetah is a technically challenging sculpt, with a lot of movement, fabric, and presence for the sculptor to bring to life. Fine details need to be accurate, but also strong and robust enough to hold up at a 32mm scale.

After several rounds of review and revisions, we all agreed that this sculpt beautifully captures her spirit and joy in this moment!

The Leetah mini is part of the Minis Group B reward level, as well as the bundled rewards at $250 and higher.

A huge thanks to Jason Wiebe for his stellar work on this miniature!

Wendy Pini Art Timelapse Preview + Campaign Update
almost 3 years ago – Tue, Jun 01, 2021 at 03:13:04 PM

Wendy Pini at Work

One of the most exciting parts of creating the audio movie and this Kickstarter was delivering and setting up a GoPro for Wendy Pini's art studio. Its purpose? To record a number of videos of Wendy's complete art process as she designs new art panels for ElfQuest!

Backers at the $50 and higher levels will receive access to these complete videos, but it's so incredibly cool watching Wendy work that we wanted to give everyone a preview timelapse now.

Campaign Update

Thanks to your support we are, at the time of writing, 77% funded with 24 days to go. 70% is the magic number for a Kickstarter campaign's likelihood to succeed, so we're thrilled to have reached this milestone so quickly.

At about 80/85% we'll begin a strong push to 100% to build more momentum and get us onto stretch goals as quickly as possible. We have some exciting new goals to announce and look forward to sharing them with you.

In the meantime, whatever pledge level you're at, this is a great time to help other Elfquest fans learn about this campaign! With 440 backers so far (and growing higher) we also know that tens of thousands of ElfQuest fans have yet to hear about this project. With your help, we can reach the generations of people who grew up with ElfQuest and invite them into this incredible community.

More updates soon!

ElfQuest 01 Front Cover – Closeups
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 28, 2021 at 08:17:33 AM

One of the most exciting moments during our launch livestream was watching ElfQuest fans react as we zoomed in on details in the ElfQuest cover paintings. This is art we're all familiar with in smaller formats, but nobody had ever seen it at a resolution that revealed every one of Wendy's brushstrokes.

Especially for those of us who have created our own ElfQuest fan art, the ability to see exactly how Wendy's mixed media worked together was a revelation.

It's clear that, from the very beginning, ElfQuest had a unique look and style, with an attention to detail that elevated the book above many mass-market volumes.

A huge thanks to Wendy for giving us clearance to reproduce her covers in a larger format, on high-resolution and high-contrast fine art paper!

Each of these closeups is from Wendy's high-resolution scan of the original painting!

Let us know in the comments if you'd like to see more features like this—and which details you're dying to see from the other nine original ElfQuest cover art paintings!

The ElfQuest 01 front cover is available as an add-on at any pledge level. These 18x24 fine art prints are designed to last a lifetime on acid-free paper with an expanded color gamut, natural contrast, and high ink load. Each print is signed and numbered by Wendy and Richard Pini and is suitable for framing.

24-Hour Report and Thanks!
almost 3 years ago – Thu, May 27, 2021 at 09:48:14 AM

Hi everyone!

What an exciting first 24-hours. Thanks to your support we've raised more than 30% of our funding goal, with more than 200 backers joining us for this leg of the journey.

We have a lot to share throughout the campaign, but today would like to highlight yesterday's livestream events, which featured Wendy and Richard Pini, the audio movie team, a special appearance by a new cast member, and many of the people involved with preparing and launching this project.

Those livestreams made it clear that ElfQuest is like a family. The community has been supporting Wendy and Richard's work and independence for over forty years... and this campaign continues a long ElfQuest tradition of maintaining their independence through collective action. Thank you!
