Treestump Casting Announced!

We're excited to announce that Aaron Douglas is joining the ElfQuest Audio Movie cast as Treestump! Aaron Douglas was born on August 23, 1971 in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. He is an actor and writer, known for Battlestar Galactica, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, and Unspeakable. He has also appeared on Supernatural, The Flash, iZombie, and Hemlock Grove. Douglas has a love of hockey and has been on skates since he was 2 years old. He still plays hockey as an adult, usually as a goalie.

A gruff, no-nonsense tribal elder, Treestump often serves as chief when Cutter is absent. Though his calm acceptance of The Way lends him a certain forgetfulness, more than a thousand years of life has filled Treestump with a calm well of wisdom. Good-humored yet occasionally grumpy, he is something of a father figure to the entire tribe.

He received his name when Bearclaw watched his friend stand like an “ol’ tree stump” during a troll ambush. The strongest wolfrider, Treestump’s thickly muscled frame hides a vulnerable side, too—especially when it comes to protecting his tribe and the memories that do stay with him.

Stretch Goals Update

Wow, we're stunned. You all blasted through our $75,000 stretch goal, which means that it's time for something special. Our next stretch goal is a twofer, both pieces coming in when we reach $100,000.

First, we're preparing a special digital reward for EVERY backer at the $100,000 level. This will be a campaign-exclusive ElfQuest poster created mosaic-style... and featuring your faces and photos, that you submit! And we'll add in a special thank-you video featuring some key cast and team members. ElfQuest: The Audio Movie is funded thanks to your support, so we want to create a piece of art that would show how the entire community made this project possible.

But that's not all!

We're also planning a BIG new miniature... 

When we reach $100,000 we'll add the Madcoil mini to all pledges at the $50 and higher level!

At a scale ready to tower over the elf miniatures—or ensnare them in its coils—this will be an epic miniature.

We've already commissioned Jason Wiebe (who created our other ElfQuest minis) to sculpt Madcoil based on a sketch by Jacob Blackmon. Jason created the rest of the minis for this campaign and we can't wait to see what he does with Madcoil!

Robert Picardo cast as Picknose

Robert Picardo (born October 27, 1953) is an American actor. He is known for his portrayals of Dr. Dick Richards on ABC's China Beach; the Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH), also known as The Doctor, on Star Trek: Voyager; the Cowboy in Innerspace, Coach Cutlip on The Wonder Years (for which he received an Emmy nomination); and as Richard Woolsey in the Stargate television franchise. Picardo is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Planetary Society. (Wikipedia)

Picknose has gone from king to refugee and back again more often than any troll on Abode, primarily because of his ability to do the unexpected. His name was inspired by his most prominent facial feature, which resembles the “curved business end of a pick.” Picknose’s interactions with the Wolfriders have been mixed at best. He once trapped the Wolfriders in the Burning Waste and on another occasion tried to steal the key in the pommel of Cutter’s sword. Later the elves somewhat reluctantly rescued Picknose and his fellow slaves from Guttlekraw’s pits. An uneasy alliance forming between the elves and Picknose’s trolls, their combined forces won the Elf-Troll War.

Zehra Fazal is Moonshade

Zehra Fazal is a Pakistani-American actor and voice artist who hopes to ignite and nurture the inner strengths, passions and imaginations of young people through storytelling. She has been able to do this in her work portraying characters on animated series for Disney Television Animation, Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers, Dreamworks, Comedy Central, Netflix, and Cartoon Network.  

On-camera, Fazal has appeared in How to Get Away With Murder, Magnum PI, Lucifer, and Mr. Mayor.   

Notable animation credits include Amphibia, Bojack Horseman, Batman: A Death in the Family, Young Justice, Voltron: Legendary Defender, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Craig of the Creek, Big Hero 6: The Series, Mira: Royal Detective, Vampirina, and Glitch Techs in which her portrayal of the Muslim character Zahra was awarded the Muslim Public Affairs Council's Voices of Courage and Conscience Award in 2021.  

Fazal has also lent her voice to several interactive titles and video games, including the smash hits Apex Legends, Borderlands 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Destiny 2, and League of Legends.  

In 2019, she won two Society of Voice Arts and Science (SOVAS) Awards for her promo work as the voice of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and overall Outstanding Body of Work.  

Fazal is based in Los Angeles and represented by A3 Artists Agency and NOVA Talent Group.

Bearclaw Casting Announcement

We're so excited to reveal another ElfQuest: The Audio Movie cast member. He played Asmodeus on on Supernatural, has appeared on Mad Men, Veronica Mars, 13 Reasons Why, and in a breathtaking 94 episodes of General Hospital... and he's a HUGE ElfQuest fan.

"My name is Jeffrey Vincent Parise and, as a child, I was first in line on Wednesdays at my local comic book shop in Indiana to buy the newest edition of the original Elf Quest.  Back when it was in magazine form with Warp Graphics. I still have all of them.  As a boy, in the backseat of my parent's car, I would ride by wooded areas and think to myself "I bet there are Elves in there..."  I dressed as Rayak one year for Halloween. My early inspirations as an artist were the Elves.  I would draw them on my school folders (which I still have) and on the classroom chalkboard.  During quarantine, I reread the entire first series and had a thought to myself; "this would make a great movie" and when I got to Bear Claw my next thought was "this is who I'd play..."  So, after all these years, Elf Quest continues to bring high levels of magic and awe into my life.  I am beyond grateful to be part of this project!"
